6,500 years ago, the Greeks began producing wine. Hippocrates, the Greek Physician, used wine for medicinal purposes and readily prescribed wine. “Let the patient drink white wine, if it benefits him, if not, dark wine”.
Despite the country’s long history of viticulture, it has only been in the last couple of decades that Greek wine has made its way to the world’s dining table.
The country offers unique wines, with more than 300 native grape varieties and a diverse landscape; from the Islands to the Highlands of Northern Greece. We invite you to join our Greek Head Sommelier, Terry Kandylis for a Masterclass on this stunning and historical wine-producing region.
